WELLINGTON. The Florida surgery doctor removed healthy kidney of a woman who underwent surgery on her back as he was convinced that the vital organ was cancerous tumor.

The Palm Beach Post reported the week before the fact that Maureen Pacheco was suing Ramon Vasquez and two other surgeons over incompetence. Vasquez was responsible for the autopsy performed on Pacheco in the year 2016 to ensure two orthopedic surgeons, Dr. John Britt and Dr. Jeffrey Coogler, could do back surgery.

The lawyer for Pacheco, Donald J. Ward claims that she did not have any say regarding the removal. The lawsuit was resolved in September. Vasquez’s lawyer Mark Mittelmark, claims the Wellington Regional Medical Center did not inform him that Pacheco had an infected pelvic kidney.
