According to police, a Florida man was accused of sending his family Coldplay texts and warning them about retaliation by his “Nazi prison associates”. The standoff was ended in exchange for a slice of pizza.

After a four-hour struggle at his Pensacola home, Evan Charles McLemore believed SWAT negotiators were ready and waiting to give him America’s favorite food. He was taken into custody Tuesday

Pensacola Police Department posted on Facebook that they “never underestimate the power a flavored pizza crust” and added that officers “cannot comment upon rumors about pineapple in said pie – operational security all.”

According to the Pensacola News Journal, it was unclear if McLemore had been given a piece by the responding officers, but he was charged with resisting the officer and aggravated harassment.
