PORT ORANGE, Florida (WESH Port Orange, Florida (WESH CNN) — Volusia United Educators President Elizabeth Albert stated that when long-time instructor Brian Wheeler mowed the bare yard of his Port Orange home in 2017 The teacher made a poor choice.

The neighbor, whom Wheeler believes has issues with him in the end, recorded Wheeler as well as filed a report to the police. Wheeler was accused of the disclosure of genitals and hooliganism.

The whistle-blowing case was dropped and the public disorder charge was removed in a deal to delay the prosecution. Wheeler did not find to be guilty of the crime.

“This is someone who has been successfully teaching history to children in our community for over two decades,” Albert said. Albert.

Wheeler worked as a permanent instructor with an impeccable name for Cypress Elementary when he was dismissed from his position. According to the documents released by the union representing teachers numerous parents and colleagues believed in the teacher.

However, some families with children were not.

District school officials who disciplined Wheeler in writing and also reprimanded him for the demotion, did not consider rethinking their choice. Additionally, Volusia County and the State Department of Education conducted an investigation in May and identified the likely reason in Wheeler’s situation for discipline. The case will be reviewed in the month of October.

But, Albert said a settlement was reached and October hearings will confirm the agreement.

Based on Albert and the papers, Wheeler will be fined but he will be able to teach.

“From this it follows that they believe that he is still of the level that can work with our children and teach,” Albert explained. Albert.

Albert said that because that the district of schools has not done so the union will serve as an arbiter for Wheeler’s behalf.
