CRESTVIEW, Florida. A Florida man charged with destroying an under-construction liquor store said to the police the store had the appearance of Alice in Wonderland and that “a hookah-smoking caterpillar” ordered him to take on the store.
Crestview police announced in a Facebook post Matthew Horace Jones is accused of breaking into a fence-lined area, and then using a forklift that caused more than $ 100,000 of damages. The suspect faces serious theft charges as well as other charges.
Witnesses dialed 911 and police were on the scene. According to the police report, Jones was seen pointing a forklift at the officers, who then stopped the forklift with a pistol.
Police described Jones to be “Alice in Wonderland”, calling the attack being a “hookah-smoking caterpillar” and saying that he was struggling with “building a place to sell alcohol.”
There is no legal representative for him.
